SP Clarke has written over 600 poems, collected in three books: Acorns (1980), Politics Of Love (1990) and Flowers Of Bafflement (1995). Many of his early poems were published in the annual literary review, Northwest Passage, produced by his alma mater (Western Oregon State College). In 1992 he was honored as an “Alumni Poet,” whose work was commemorated in the Silver Anniversary issue of Northwest Passage. In 2003, his poetry was featured in a book release entitled 100 Poems/4 Poets. Comparisons occasionally have been drawn between his work and that of ee cummings, TS Elliot, William Shakespeare, WB Yeats, Sir Philip Larkin, Richard Wilbur and Emily Dickinson. He is currently at work on a new volume of poetry. |
